I reenabled Java Quick Starter yet NFL Videos still works go figure

    January 23, 2010

Well rej, that is curious. Perhaps Java fixed quick starter. Hard to tell. As long as your videos are working, that is

what matters. I know that Java has fixed some of the add ons that had bugs in them.

Between Microsoft, Java and Adobe things are always changing, hard to keep up. I just told someone here on the forum the other day that a certain Java plugin was "not verified" and he said it wasn't listed that way on Win7. LOL

Sometimes you can't win for losing rej:-)

There is a sense of satisfaction in solving my own problem but the solution is still embarrasing

I should have known to trial and error all the extensions in the first place

Please help spread the word for the many others that have the same problem

    January 21, 2010

rejlive, good for you. Yes that is one of 2 Java add ons that need disabled. That one and the 2 SSV helper causes problems for a lot of people. Glad you found it.

Thanks for the feedback. We need a folder marked "Tips for Flash Player" LOL

    Enjoy your videos:-)

NFL contacts have not responded to any of my complaints i think they just have to many complaints to address all of them

    January 16, 2010

Well, rej, I looked at the NFL .bmp and it certainly looks like a website issue to me from the errors that registered.

    Thanks

yes i have installed flash to both but i dont see flash or shockwave in IE addons it only shows adobe reader, i do see flash plugins in firefox addons yet nfl videos dont work for it either, thanks for the help eidnolb, did you by chance look at the BMP files i made available in this thread, BTW i did install java but not necessarily for each browser, there was only one install type

    January 16, 2010

Thanks rej, I didn't see what version of IE you are using, but I may have missed it, getting ready for an appointment.

Using IE, go to Tools>Manage add ons and if you are using IE8 it seems as if the add ons are in three different sections,

all add ons, currently loaded ,etc.

Check all three, look for Shockwave Flash Object.....ActiveX Control....Flash10d.ocx(latest version of FP) . That must be there and it must be enabled.

Then switch to the FF browser and close all other browsers, go to this site: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html  If it asks you to download the Flash Player or tells you that you need the plugin, do whatever it says and then Reboot your system.

I just updated a relatives latest FP on IE and FF, that is how I got the FF updated.

    Thanks

    January 16, 2010

Hi rej, the Java installs and puts it in Add/Remove and installs the ActiveX in IE and the plugins in FF. I probably was thinking of FP. Too many variables:-)

Shockwave player is also updated, and nfl videos still do not work

I dont see many responses so i assume no one knows how to fix it

    oh well thanks anyway

i will still check in frequently to see if there are any suggestions

    January 16, 2010

Hi rejlive, did you update the Flash Player to 10.0.42.34 in both the IE and FF browsers? The NFL videos do not work in either one? Also do you have the latest Java installed? In both browsers?

If you have that taken care of and don't have any problem on youtube or any other websites, then I would say it is the

NFL website and contact the webmaster.

That is all I can advise.

    Hope you get it resolved.

    Thanks,

Did it happen only after the automatic update of 13 jan 2010. If so did

you try Utube playlist in full screen and see if that is still working also as i think adobe fla

sh latest update IS the problem with that not working properly either or perhaps you never u

sed to use utube playlist in full screen auto play in the first place?

zmth, this is the third thread that you have commented on. I would suggest to you that you check your email

notifications. I responded to 2 threads that you were on and advised you to start your own thread. If I see one more

of your posts on someone else's thread, I will use the report abuse feature.

i assume the file you are trying to open is not a video ...

probably a nokia flash light file?

i have windows xp amd sempron 1.8 ghz 1 gb ram i use firefox and internet explorer and one other but nfl videos just continues to load without playing video, youtube and all other sites work fine, ive tried unistalling and reinstalling, i use avg but that never interfered before, nfl videos just stopped working recently, actually they stopped working before the flash player upgrade from adobe, but even after ugrading it still doesnt work, upgraded java as well to see if that would help but to no avail. access seems to be denied according to the ERROR CONSOLE I made bmp attachments available above in the previous reply if anyone would like to look at them
