Problems downloading flashplayer

I've downloaded flashplayer and shockwave player several times and it always says installation is complete but when i go into websites such as you tube it says I still need to load the current version.  I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting, etc but nothing seems to work and it is now getting very frustrating.

Can anyone help?

Have you tried clearing the cache and cookies from your browser(s)?

Often times, a cookie can cause this when you "revisit" a page that previously prompted for the update.
