Problem: wanting to watch video clips - e.g. from BBC news
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-europe-41459688/police-use-batons-on-crowd-in-barcelona
Message is “Sorry you need Flash to play this. Enable it in your browser or download Flash Player here.”
- Shockwave Flash object is enabled - Active X filtering is off.
Problem is also preventing me from accessing online learning modules.
I would be grateful if anyone could provide guidance to address this .
This has been working fine and has only recently stopped.
I am not very techie - some useful info.
Windows 10 / Internet Explorer 11 – 11.608.15063.0 / update versions 11.0.46 (KB4036586) / Flash version 27.0.0.130
I have verified flash player installed on pc as can see the clouds in the test in https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
and this pages also stated that ‘Flash player is pre-installed with Internet Explorer in Windows 10 and updates automatically.”
Many thanks
Thanks Elle for your advice. However, bizarrely it seems after 2 weeks the issue has now corrected itself. I am uncertain why this happened though thanks for giving guidance. I hope your issues has also corrected itself.

I have this same issue, dang it. I was hoping there was an answer. On 9/13/17 there was an update where Flashplayer was "Updated" and now videos and such don't play. So frustrating I can't un-install either.

Microsoft does not allow external installs into Edge or Internet Explorer
If you want the latest Flash Player, you will have to use a non-Microsoft browser
Or search Microsoft - Official Home Page for help with Microsoft's browsers

It sounds like the original poster's problem was at the content provider's end, and was ultimately resolved independent of any action at the client.
For the other folks posting here, one of the following might help.
Adobe Flash Player enabled but not recognized in Windows 10 Edge
Enable Flash Player for Google Chrome
Enable Flash Player for Firefox
If not, please start a new thread, and include the following basic information, so we can provide you personalized advice:
