settings manager doesn't work

Hi everyone, my problem is I can't access to settings manager on Adobe page. When I click on one of the panels, the window where the panel should be is inactive (there is nothing: white empty). I use Windows XP, IE 8. I tried with the latest Flash and an older version, but I got the same problem. How can I manage my flash player then?

Use the online settings manager.

http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager.html

Links are on the left side.

If THAT doesn't load, you need to check: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968

Thanks Mike M, but this won't work.

Yes, I was talking about the online settings manager, because the menu in the Flash window just brings me there. So I must try to get the online settings manager to work.

Now, the video you linked is about IE 9, but as I wrote, I am using IE 8. In IE 8 in the 'Safety' menu has no ActiveX Filtering option.

What can I do then?

Sorry about that. I wasn't thinking when I posted that link for ActiveX filtering.

Give Flash Player a clean install:  http://forums.adobe.com/message/4041846

If it still won't access the settings manager, it's gotta be firewalled.

I did the clean install, but the online manager still won't work.

I tried to install Chrome, and there I can see the panels. So I think there must be some kind of problem with my IE 8.

But, I wanted to use the settings manager to disable the automatic upgrades. As I can now understand, though, Flash Player does not normally do automatic upgrades, and there is no way to disable this by settings manager.

So I have now a different problem. I want to keep an older version of Flash. But everytime I install this older version and connect to Internet, Flash automatically upgrades to latest version (13).

I don't do anything, it makes everything by itself. Then I have to uninstall, install again the older version, but at the next connection to Internet, I find again the latest version.

How can I disable this and keep the older version? Please, I need to solve this.

Today I followed (for the second time) the guide for the clean install to uninstall flash, then I tried to install a different previous version: now it won't install at all. It opens a window which says (approximately):

The version you are trying to install is not updated. Visit the Download Center to get the latest most safe version of FP.

And there is only the "Exit" button.

How can I install an older version of FP? The latest isn't suitable for my PC, I have a very old machine. Please help me, I opened a question in "Installing" section too.

LATEST

Use the uninstaller (825 KB) to remove Flash Player.

Then, download the Flash Player 12.0.0.77 zip archive, and install using the "ax" or ActiveX installer in the folder.
