Shockwave 12.0.0.43 causes Firefox to Freeze/Disabling hardware acceleration?

The latest update of Shockwave 12.0.0.43 pushed out causes Firefox 26 to freeze (Windows 7/64 bit). I went through all of the troubleshooting tips that I could do. I tried to disable the hardware acceleration to see if that was the problem, unfortunately, Shockwave has to be running to do this, but it keeps freezing Firefox every single time I turn it back on. So I know that Shockwave is what is causing my Firefox to freeze up and not something else. (I have already reset all the settings in Firefox in an effort to stop the freezes.)

I really like Firefox, but this could be what pushes me to finally just use Chrome all the time.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to disable hardware acceleration without enabling Shockwave, or have I just missed something?

Thanks!

Try a restart with add-ons disabled,

and then manually enable JUST Flash Player and try disabling hardware acceleration from there.

I discovered that it was not the hardware acceleration problem at all, since I had uninstalled and re-installed a previous version of Shockwave and still had the problem. I remembered that I did NOT have the problem in early December, so I've rolled back to that version and now I don't have the problem. I will keep that version of Shockwave.

I was perusing the forums and saw that others have been having the same problems for awhile now, so it's not just me. I saw that you had recommended some other tips that I had already tried, i.e., resetting Firefox, deleting registry keys, etc. This is far too much work to do on a regular basis for as often as Adobe pushes out updates to this product. I'll just keep it disabled until I need to use it.

Thanks for the help and suggestions!
