Sound still too loud

New Here ,
Apr 06, 2013 Apr 06, 2013

Over a year ago the sound in the flash player was way too loud on 100%.

Now it's still too loud. On 50% volume it seems to be normal.

But this only appears, when the system volume isn't set to 100% (when I'm using headphones without a volume control).

Cool, that's helpful.

There's been a bug since Flash Player 11.3 (when we enabled Sandboxing for Firefox) where we weren't able to set the volume of the slider in the Windows Volume Mixer.  That should be fixed in Flash Player 11.7.

When a Flash video is playing, double-click the speaker icon in the taskbar.

You should see a slider for Flash Player.  Adjust the slider.

It used to be that that preference would never stick.  It should stick now.  If you exit the browser and come back, Flash shoul

A few questions:

  • What version of Flash Player are you using?  (Right click on Flash content.  It will be displayed at the bottom of the context menu)
  • What browser and version are you using?
  • What operating system and version are you using?
  • What sound card and driver version are you using?
  • Can you give me a link to a site that reproduces the problem, or is it all Flash content that you encounter?
  • Do you see the same volume problem on both HTML5 and Flash videos, like in the examples below?

          - HTML5 video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTl3U6aSd2w&html5=True

          - Flash video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTl3U6aSd2w

Thanks!

If that's not working, please let me know.

Hello,

there is no slider for the Flash Player (when playing a Flash video), only for the browser itself.

I've just downloaded the beta, and the volume not being remembered is still an issue.

EDIT: Sorry, it appears to be working. Aparrently the setting is not committed immediately; I opened a page with flash, lowered the volume and then closed the browser. When opening again, the volume was at full. However, trying it again but closing the tab and continuing to use the browser before restarting remembers the volume. So, it's working for me, it obviously just saves the preference at some specific point.
