My Spotify didn't functioning (didn't "answer") suddenly. When I deleted Flash Player 10.3 Spotify worked again. Trying to download Flash Player again; same result. This means I have to decide whether I shall give priority to Spotify or the abality to look at web TV (which only has the option of Flash Player 10.3. I have Explorer 9 and Windows Vista.

Did you try disabling the Flashplayer add-on instead of uninstalling the Flashplayer add-on?

Are you using the Spotify Windows application? If so, it shouldn't interact with Flash Player at all. I've run it with and without Flash Player installed.
You might want to post on the Spotify forum to see if anyone else has run into this problem.

The Spotify Windows application still depends on Flash Player though not for everything. I have the same issue and have already posted on the Spotify forums. They directed me to reinstall flash which I had already done because no flash content was working. It seems that there is some sort of issue between Spotify and Flash, I just don't understand what it could be.

That's interesting. What parts of Spotify will use Flash? I'd be happy to try this out on my systems.

I'm having what seems to be a related problem. My MySpace site wants me to Install Flash Player 11. But it stops halfway and wants me to close IE and Spotify before continuing. I close IE, that's fine. But Spotify is not open! How can I close it if it's not open?
(And when I go to the Adobe page that tells me what version I have, it says I have version 11 already.)

I didn't even realize I accidentally resurrected an old thread. I'm not even using 10.3 (I'm using the latest version) but it seemed relevant. Anyway, the advertisements in Spotify appear to use Flash. As for my issue, I uninstalled flash entirely and now spotify works... the strange part is that Flash still works in chrome and internet explorer but not firefox.

Chrome has it's own built in version of Flash Player and IE uses an ActiveX version (different than what you'd install for Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc.) Were you having problems with Flash Player crashing Spotify?

That explains why uninstalling it fixed Spotify then... Yes it was quite clearly Flash Player that was causing Spotify to crash.

Hmm, well if you ever decide to install the "other browser version of flash player" (see this FAQ for direct links) and it does crash please let me know. You can post here or contact me directly at ccampbel@adobe.com.
Thanks,
Chris

I reinstalled the "other browser" version after running a registry cleaner and now everything seems to be working properly. I will post again if the issue returns.
