I am using SmartNotebook 11 it does not work with version 11.9. they suggested I revert to the older version but when I try I get a message that states this is not allowed as it is not the latest version of the product.
Can you help please as I am a school teacher and need to use the flash utilities within SmartNotebook.
I am trying to run the file downloaded from
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_11.8.800.175_archive.zip
thanks
Peter
Since I was able to install with the versions provided on the SMARTTech web site, I was thinking that you might be able to install that version as well. However, looking into it further, I discovered that it is not the install file, but the manner in which the previous version is uninstalled that allows an older version to be installed.
Use these Flash player uninstall instructions provided by Adobe. You will then be able to install the earlier version.

I was able to uninstall 11.9 and install version 11.8 from the links provided on the SMARTTech site (flashplayer11_8r800_168_winax.exe and flashplayer11_8r800_168_win.exe).

Issue
If you previously installed a version of Flash Player for Internet Explorer, then you can be prevented from installing an earlier version. For example, if you installed Flash Player 10.0.32.18 and tried to install version 10.0.22.87, then the installation fails. In some versions, the following error message is displayed:
"The version of Adobe Flash Player ActiveX that you are trying to install is not the most current version".
Solution
Download the uninstaller for Flash Player from Uninstall Flash Player | Windows (tn_14157). The latest version of the uninstaller for Flash Player deletes the "safe versions" registry key by default. To run the uninstaller in silent mode, follow the instructions below.
Choose Start > Run.
Type cmd in the Open box, and then press Enter.
In the command window, type the following:
uninstall_flash_player.exe -uninstall
Note: Save the uninstall_flash_player.exe file to the same directory that the command window is in (for example C:\).

Hi,
THANKYOU ... I tried the uninstaller from this link, and it worked I had tried to uninstall from a link in an email I received from Smartech and that presumably had a 'problem' with the "safe Versions"registry key.
I have been able to uninstall and install an older version that works for me.
cheers

If you do try it out, please let us know how it works for you.
