Using Windows 10 and IE 11, Flashplayer needs updating for games

I am trying to play games which say Flash Player needs to be updated, but it is an integral part of Windows 10. I have carried out the steps to check (add-ons and ActiveX) and all seems OK but it still does not work. This has only happened in the last day or so - has something changed?

Microsoft embeds Flash Player in IE/Edge in Windows 10 and Flash Player updates are released by Microsoft via Windows Updates.  If you have 24.0.0.186 you have the current version installed. The next scheduled update is scheduled to be released tomorrow.

2 days later and I still have the problem. It is now appearing on a website that I maintain.

How can I find the version?

Hi,

Check for windows updates and if you find any updates for Flash Player install the same. To check the installed version you can go to  Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows 7 and earlier page and click on check now button.

The latest available Flash Player version is 24.0.0.194.

Thanks!

Hi

I have now installed all available updates and now have the latest version of Flash Player, but I still have the same problem with both websites. Any other ideas?

Internet Explorer 11 and Edge introduce a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.

You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11

If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.

Also, it sounds like perhaps you also have JavaScript disabled.  Are you using any ad-blockers or anti-tracking plugins?  Do you have IE in a non-default security configuration?
