Video's and streams give a jerky effect

Dear readers,

Since a few days I've been having this problem. I can't watch some video's and I can't watch streams on Twitch.
It's giving a choppy or jerky effect which makes it impossible to watch. Video's on youtube are however not a problem.
I've been searching on the internet for clues and it led me to flashplayer problems. I've tried to install an older version, but that didn't work.
That's why I am here now to ask if this is a known issue and what I can do about it.

In general, Twitch is HTML5 video, not Flash.  If you right-click on the video and it says About Flash Player in the context menu, that's us.  If not, it's most likely native video support in the browser.

The "when in doubt, reboot" advice is definitely applicable here.

If that doesn't help, good network connectivity is always a big deal.  If you're on wireless, does it work better if you're plugged in via ethernet?  If so, then you need to look at your wireless network.

Thanks for the reply. Rightclicking twitch streams actually tells me nothing. I heard youtube uses html5 aswell, and that gives no problem at all.

I'm on the cable, and my internet is stable anyways so that can't be it.
It's pretty annoying and I really don't know what to do.

But again, this probably isn't Flash video.  You'll probably want to make sure before you spend a bunch of time on it.

I uninstalled my drivers and tried an old update. Now it seems to be fine!
