When I get this false error message and click on the link, Adobe tells me my current Flash Player version is 11.9.900.170 and "Your system is: Windows 64-bit, English". I actually have an iMac with OSX 10.7.5, and Adobe Flash Player 11.9.900.170 already installed. I've reinstalled, deleted Flash Player completely and reinstalled several times and yet I continue getting these false "Windows 64-bit" update needed error messages for my iMac computer. How do I stop these false error messages?

I have the same exact problem and it's been effecting my internet speed as well. Hopefully we can find the solution. Does this happen on any of your mobile devices that shares the same internet?

Hasn't happened on my iPhone - yet. Apparently, Adobe thinks I have a Windows
computer, instead of a Mac. When I click the link to purchase Adobe Photoshop
Elements 12 (I have version 10 on my Mac), it puts the Windows platform
version in my cart, not Mac, so I delete it. Yet, when I check my Adobe Flash
Player version on the Adobe website, it shows the correct Mac version! You're
right - I hope someone out there can help us straighten Adobe out!

Just reported this problem to phishing@adobe.com. Hopefully, they'll be able
to help. The phishing website I'm directed to is:
http://smartmediasearcher.com/download.php?&id=68&name=FlashPlayer11
If you're getting directed to the same fake website, you might consider
reporting to phishing@adobe.com as well...

That is the exact same site I am redirected to! I'm going to report them this problem as well and maybe they'll help me figure this out.

Great! I just got the same site, but this time, all the wording is in Russian!
I'm sure it's a phishing site...

Yeah, sometimes I get some weird Russian site as well. Is your internet affected as well? I can't load certain webpages and some webpages load really slow.

I'm having a similar issue on both my Macbook Pro (OSX Mavericks), my iPhone 5S (iOS 7.0.4) and my wife's iPhone 5C (iOS 7.0.4). It happens on almost every site I viisit and when I launch some apps. I've cleared histories, caches and turned Javascript on/off. Also, get the "warning" when I use Chrome for iOS. I've added an image below of what it looks like on my phone. I'm attempting a factory restore on my 5S. I'll let you know if it helps.

Right. My warning is exactly the same. I use Firefox and downloaded two
extensions: LeechBlock and Block Site. On both, I've blocked the foreign sites
which appear to be Russian. I still get the popup warning window and just
cancel it. I'm trying to get Firefox involved but no luck so far. I emailed
Adobe security & detailed the problem to them two days ago - heard nothing but
may be due to the holidays. I'll reply again if I get any good news. I also
downloaded Adobe Shockwave, which I thought might work in place of Flash
Player, but I still get blank windows on some sites telling me I can't read
them without Flash Player! Stay tuned...
