Why does the Adobe Flash Player icon NOT appear on the desktop and why is the program not listed as being on the computer, even if it is running OK?
1 Correct answer
Flash Player isn't like a normal application. You don't access it directly so you won't see an icon on the desktop or the start menu. Instead, your web browser will automatically detect it and use it whenever the content you are viewing requires it.

Dear Mr Campbell,
Thank you very much for answering my question so promptly and in such an “easy to understand” fashion. It makes sense, even to a relative novice like myself.
Regards and best wishes from an Aussie user of Adobe products.
