Why does the Adobe Flash Player icon NOT appear on the desktop and why is the program not listed as being on the computer, even if it is running OK?

    Flash Player isn't like a normal application.  You don't access it directly so you won't see an icon on the desktop or the start menu.  Instead, your web browser will automatically detect it and use it whenever the content you are viewing requires it.
