Attempting to update from ADOBE FP shockwave 16.0.0.305.
- Flash player installer downloads, runs, initializes, but when finally attempts installation, gives error message: CONNECTION FAILED.
- Options for retry just go around in same circle. Have tried more than 40 times. Shut off AVAST antivirus. Restarted, ETC. Always the same result.
- ALSO GET SAME RESULT WITH UPDATE ATTEMPTS FOR:
ADOBE READER 10.1.15.11 AND ADOBE FP RealNetworks RealDownloader PepperFlashVideoShim Plug-In 1.3.2.28.

Thank you for your insult!
It is simply not possible that the offline installer acts the same way as the download manager. So either give us information that lets us help, or stop insulting the people who are trying to help you!

Thank you P. Sounds like I finally got a sentient being. I take you at your

You would probably believe it, but that worked quite expeditiously.
So, kindly accept my thanks.

I do notice listing of an outdated FP 1.3.2.28, so I checked programs via
control panel programs and features, but it's not listed.
In your response, referring to the offline installer, you did not refer to
a particular item on the page,

My link should position the browser to the section Still Having Problems? with the download links for the offline installers. Some browsers may position it slightly different, but there is nothing I can do about that.

Where do you find a reference to such an old Flash Player - that version is some 20 years old! You could try the uninstaller program, which should uninstall versions back to 1.0: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
You will of course have to reinstall Flash Player after running it.

That old FP only appears in the mozilla addon plugin status list, not in
the control panel programs and features. It must be some artifact.

Can you check if there is anything that could possibly be that old Flash Player in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
I don't know where else Firefox is checking for add-ons.

FP 18 is in there, but no FP 1

Sorry, then I have no idea where that comes from.
Does the Firefox Add-ons panel offer a Remove option?

no it does not.
FP1 does not appear in the add-ons manager list, but only in the linked
plugin status page

I see. When you right-click on that plugin and select Show More Information, does it give you the file name? If so, can you search for it on your system?

I am having the same issue with Firefox and have followed all the steps listed, and when I try to run the direct link installer I receive an error message that says c:\users\____\desktop\install_flash_player.exe is not a valid Win32 application. No amount of windows guided troubleshooting is solving my issue at all. Help?

"Not a valid Win32 application" usually means that your download is corrupted/truncated. What is the file size of your downloaded installer?
The latest installer size is 18,306 KB (18,744,520 bytes).

When I deleted the old download and tried to download it again I kept getting this message:
C:\Users\_____\AppData\Local\Temp\wh0_sZ16.exe.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.
Try again later, or contact the server administrator.

I'm sorry, I'm not the expert. Were you able to contact Willener with that
address I sent to you?
I didn't have much faith in the forum, it took a few days, but I did get
helped.
I wish you luck.

I am not sure if this is in any way related to Flash Player.
Either way I would try to download the offline installers again, using a different browser.
