How can you tell it is installing the 32-bit version?

What files do you have in

  • C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash ?
  • C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash ?

You have partially both 32-bit and 64-bit players installed, but many files are missing.

I suggest you do a clean uninstall, as described in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315

Download the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.ht... and save it to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.
