Adobe Flash Player ActiveX is not updated with Autoupdate

Hey there,

I am using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11. I also use Firefox.

While the plugin-version of "Flash Player" is updated automatically without problems, the ActiceX-Version is not updated. It is still 14.0.....

Why doesn't the ActiveX-Version update together with the plugin-version? I always have to do it manually ....

There are 2 different installers for the two different browsers.  They update separately.  I suspect you use Firefox more often than IE as plugin is the one that is being set to update, whereas IE is  not.  to update Flash Player for IE, launch IE and go to get.adobe.com/flashplayer to download the update.

The best option to updated all Flash Player versions on the system is to opt into background Updates.  When installing Flash Player select the 'Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended)' option.  After Flash Player is installed go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items > Flash Player > Updates tab > select 'Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended) option.

Yes, absolutely I use Firefox more often than IE.

The manual update worked for me, but not the automatic one.

I know the settings of the control panel. At the moment, it is set to "tell me if there are new updates".
You mean if I change this to "Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended)", not only the plugin version but also the activex version is updated automatically?

Yes, opting into Background Updates (Allow Adobe to install updates) will update all versions of Flash Player in the system, silently in the background with no user intervention required.
