Hi,

I have been going mad for over a week now trying everything to install the new adobe 10.1 and it just wont install. I would be very grateful if someone could help me with this problem.

I have removed every other adobe program like some forums say before installation.

To install I go to the website and click install latest version of flash player. It then opens the page where it tells me how to install and a bar along the top says ''this website wants to install the following add-on:ADOBE DLM from adobe systems incorporated, if you want to install click here..' .. so I do, then it installs activecontrolX and a box pops up, I click continue it installs the add on then adobe download manager opens where I see a download bar, it downloads and says and says!!...and says!!...'Error installation failed'            .It doesnt tell me a reason or anything!

If anyone could please help me with this I would be so grateful and would save me so much more stress.

Thanks,

Jake

It would help if you provided some basic information (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/657743), but since you mention ActiveX we can assume that you use Internet Explorer on Windows.

    Try to start again:

If the installation still fails, please post the contents of the FlashInstall.log file from C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash (it could also be elsewhere, depending on your Windows version).

You still haven't provided any information on your system / environment

    .

And you are still using the download manager, despite the direct download link that I have provided in my earlier post.
