Flash and 4.1 Android OS

New Here ,

Why wasn't flash certified to work on android 4.1 OS? Several sites require Flash and not being able

to view content is ridiculous. Surely the developers have an alternative solution?

Don't hold your breath waiting for that.

Android (not Adobe) dropped all support for Flash in June of 2012. Shortly thereafter, Adobe ended development for Android because there was no future in it.

Back in 2006, when Apple released the first iPhone, they made iOS specifically incompatible with Flash because they reasoned that playing Flash content is extremely processor consumptive and it kills batteries, as well as battery life. It took Android six years to follow suit, but their reason was exactly the same.

There are "alternate" browsers for Android that will play Flash content (Dolphin seems to be the preferred app, but I can't say more than that because the most time I've spent with an Android tablet has been this past week while I repaired the power coupling on my niece's Kindle), and Googling "Sideloading Flash Player" will list a bunch of pages with instructions to work around the Google Play block on Flash Player, but niether Android nor Adobe endorse or support it, and if it crashes your Android device, you're entirely on your own.
