Yes, this info is correct. That technote now also contains earlier builds of Flash Player 9 (as well as the Flash Player 8 security fixes that came out today).
If you have a case number from your contact with Adobe, please post it and I'll see if I can get your feedback to the right team.

Hi...can someone point me in the right direction to download
Flash Player 8 please?
Since installing the last build of Flash Player 9, i've had non-stop problems as many websites advise me that I don't have Flash Player installed, therefore, i'm unable to play games and view some content! Have tried reinstalling etc but it doesn't fix the problem.
I never had any issues with version 8 so would like to use it again.
Thanks in advance 🙂

I am having the very same issues and cannot download Flash 8
from Adobe. It deleted when Flash 9 automatically downloaded (Flash
8 worked perfectly well). I did find a site which offerred Flash 8
download, but I don't know the source, and am afraid to compound my
Flash problems:
www.soft32.com
I have notified Adobe/Macromedia and they informed me that my Flash will not work on my dial-up connection, which is absurd because previous versions worked just fine.
Please notify Adobe, so perhaps they will get the messsage and correct problems.

Where can I 'currently' find a download for Adobe Flash
Player 8. My Weather Channel Desktop Weather will not open and I
have been told that the problems is in Adobe's Flash Player 9 and
comptability. There were no problems with version 8, but 9 is
different. Ideas?

How to get Flash 8:
Uninstall Flash Player with the Flash Uninstaller.(Read "How to uninstall the Macromedia Flash Player Plug-in and Active X Control": http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157)
Locate the Flash 8 download in the "Archived Macromedia Player's available for testing purposes" at
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14266.
Disregard my previous instructions, which I received from a hopelessly uninformed Adobe Technician!
This info is updated and hopefully correct...
