Flash Player download size?

Why does Adobe Flash Player display a file size of 57MB BUT ONLY downloads 1.02MB? Computer system detects and verifies that Flash Player is installed, but WILL NOT PLAY on ANY web sites that require Flash Player. ALL settings are set to specifications YET STILL DOES NOT work.

Download from: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/  is 1mb, because it's a "Stub Installer" - it downloads the rest of it as part of the installation process.

The FULL installers:

• Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
• Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)

are 18mb because they already contain the remaining portion that the "Stub Installer" has to download.

NO software is the same size as it's installer. NONE.

There are files which are "Written" as part of the install and the finished software is ALWAYS larger than the file it came from.

Examples: 

Windows 8 - Install DVD is 5.28Gb - Installed OS is 14Gb

Adobe  Reader - Installer is 77mb - Installed application is 306.2mb

Mozilla Forefox - Installer is 48mb - installed software is 115mb
