flash player sound problem after opening WMP file through e-mail

hey every1,

ive been having a flashplayer sound problem for a long time now.

the first time ive had it, it got fixed without me knowing it. 1 moment it was broken, a moment later and i had my sound back o.O its like magic.

2nd time, i went through every website which claimed to have fixes for the issue. ive done like everything thats on the net, except reinstalling my sound drivers. nothing worked, and when i was desperate enough, i deleted my sound drivers, and reinstalled them. had some problem finding the ones i needed but thats off-topic:P and when i checked youtube, i finally had my sound back again

and since yesterday, my sound is gone again. but now i finally know the source of my problem, which is, that, since ive been receiving e-mails from a friend, who sends me music through e-mail as attachments, ive been having these problems. and its weird cuz he's just been sending plain .mp3 files. o.O

when im opening e-mails with audiofile attachments, windows media player gives a message which asks me to play the audio files. the message says the extension of the file is .aspx, and asks me to play the file even though the extension is unknown. and it should be able to just play the file as it should normally o.O and btw, the audio file thats attached in the e-mail, is just a plain .mp3 file. i dont know why WMP gives a message saying the file has an .aspx extension.

so, yesterday my sound was still working. i was listening to music on youtube. and i was checking my e-mail, and when i opened an e-mail with an audio file in it, the WMP message popped up again, asking me to open the file with an .aspx extension. and right after the message popped up, my youtube music suddenly stopped o.O and since then ive been having the same problem again, my flash player sound is not working anymore. ive checked various websites which use flash player, and none of them have been playing propperly, no sound, like ive had before.

what i am using:

browser: firefox, latest version, up to date.

flash: latest version, up to date.

windows media player: WMP 11, up to date, newest version also, ofcourse.

EDIT: e-mail client: http://www.hotmail.com/

ive got all the necessary extensions for firefox AND internet explorer for flash installed on my pc. ive got all wmp extensions, my registry settings are fine, so thats not the problem either, ive checked all and did the registry fix, didnt work. did the k-lite codec pack codec fix, didnt work, ive had k-lite on my computer for a long time anyways.

plz help me:O i dont know what to do and dont want to reinstall my drivers over again every time i open an e-mail with audio attachments:O

i could post everything u need here, and even tho i may have done some of the fixes, im not too bad to double check them:o plz help.

EDIT: when opening a sound file through my e-mail client, i now get the message saying that the file could not be found. error code: 0xC00D1197

    Hi sum 1

Ok   firstly i am not a PC geek,

but I come from the school of eliminate the obvious, even if it seems too obvious...

and most of the time the simplest things actually work.

So please do not give me a mouthfull if this doesnt work, i am just trying something to see if it works or at least eliminates

    something obvious from the equation.

Could you from email save the file to a location that you know , but

in the drop down box from "Save As"

make sure the file is saved as an MP3 format file.

Then after it has saved go to the folder find the file double click it to run it...

( use "open with" and select FlashPlayer if its not the default player)

and just see if the file now plays properly in Flash

    cheers

    Martin
