Flash * Player - swf files

Guest

I used to be able to double click on an swf file and it would play in the flash player. Now when I try that it get
the Windows "Open With Dialog Box" asking me to select the program that is to play the file. I have made not
major or minor changes to my system. I have Flash 8 Professional and Flash MX 2004 Professional installed
on my system.

Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Ron

Find you standalone flash player (SAFlashPlayer.exe) under the macromedia
program files folder where you installed flash. Run it and exit. That
should re-register it as the player for local SWF files.

I have the same problem but don't have SAFlashPlayer.exe and have not found it at Adobe. Any idea where I can get it or convert my 2 *.swf files to *.mpg or ".avi? - - - Thanks!

You get it as part of Flash .. if you buy (or trial) Flash, you get the
standalone player. Its not available separately.

You can just publish your SWF as projector exe's, then you don't need the
player (because it is build into the projector exe).

Thank you "Jeckyl". I went to the Open As Dialog and located the program you suggested and it works great. Don't know what caused the problem, but
I and indeed greatful for your assistance.
