Flash8/Flash10 conflict with TVersity.

Hello,

I'm encountering a problem in which TVersity is for some reason recognizing Flash Player 8 on my system, even though I have unistalled Flash both using Add/Remove Programs and using the Uninstaller utitlity available on Adobe's website. After uninstalling, I have downloaded and installed the latest Flash Player 10.

When I open the TVersity GUI and make a right-mouse click, it gives me options for Flash Player 8, even though I have uninstalled and "scrubbed" Flash 8 from my system using the Uninstaller.

If i open the TVersity GUI in web version through FireFox and make a right-mouse click, it recognizes the Flash 10 that is actually installed on my system.

The problem is that the GUI itself will not function correctly with Flash 8, and for some reason it keeps thinking Flash 8 is what is installed. It tells me that the Media Server is not running (it is, and it works over the web if I connect to Localhost Admin).

Does anyone know how I can fully and truly get rid of all references to Flash Player 8 from my system, or has anyone encountered a fix to this issue?

Hi BG99-
aka "Demonic"?
There's a thread in TVersity forum with the same issue. No fix there, either.
Using IE, verify your FP version http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about
If it acts screwey and doesn't work, you have some remnants causing probs.
Also, check you installed programs- Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs (XP) or Programs and Features (Vista)
AND, got to C:/Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash. You should have FlashUtil10x, Flash10x.ocx, an uninstaller and maybe a text file (the "x" in 10x can be any letter). If you have any other Util or ocx, go online, right click on the Flash Util10x, "Run as Admn" (Vista) or double click (XP). A "wizard" should appear, follow the instructions. This will set and update FP10.
Is your FP10 working OK on other sites? I think this is a detection problem with TVersity site. I'm not going to troubleshoot it, 'cause I really don't want to put that media player on my pc (sorry). Hopefully a fellow TVersity user can do that for ya.
