Your iPad is 110% correct.

Ipads, iPhones, and iPod Touch have NEVER supported Flash and they never will, or it's likely Steve Jobs will rise from the grave, and dissolve Apple as a company.

Go to the App Store and download "SkyFire". It's free and uses "server side rendering" to display Flash content in pages that require the Flash plug-in.
