Question

Is flash player 10.2.159.1 correctly installed?

When I Need to update flas player, I always uninstall the previous version using the uninstall tool from adobe.

Then I go to adobe.com and click on download flash player link, it takes me through the steps to install the download manager. I follow the steps, and give permission to install.

Now when I updated just the other day the

adobe download manager box popped up.

As it was installing I could see the completion percentage increasing.

However, the progress bar that usually fills green as it installs, was not filling green but empty, But the percentage complete did hit 100%

After that the box for flash player insatllation appeared and I checked agree and then install. It seemed to indicate installation was done.

Does the progress bar showing empty not matter as long as the percentage complete showed 100%?

My question is did the flash player install correctly even though the adobe download manager did not show the progrss bar filling green?

Did the adobe download manager not install correctly and if it didn't did it mess up teh falsh player installation?

Please help me with this specifically and not tell me there are other ways to download. I'm more concerned if this is a good legit installtion of flash player or was it compromised?

You can use this page to see if Flash Player is correctly installed: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

I personally never use the DLM; I always download the executable installer(s) from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

when I go to the test page It shows the animation and the current version

so I guess that means that I have Flash Player. So the funkiness of teh Adobe Download manager didn't really make any problems in getting the flash player??

    It appears that way, yes.

One reason why I don't use the DLM is that the executable installers do not bundle unrelated softwares (like McAfee) into the download.
