Hi,
I have windows xp in my computer. I bought a HP photo scanner and when I tired to install the scanner I get a error message "MACROMEDIA PROJECTOR HAS ENCOUNTED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE". I have tried to install the scanner by using the driver disk. As soon as it open it gives the error message. I copied the content of the disk into the local disk of the computer and tried installing from the computer still the same error apperas. I managed to install the scanner by using hardware without using the disk. Now the scanner is working but I need the software for the scanner which is in the disk. I cannot intall the scanner software in the disk. I am not able to use the scanner without the scanner software. IS THERE ANY SOLUTION FOR THIS ERROR MESSAGE. CAN ANYONE HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.

Hi I also purchased an HP photo scanner in July and had exactly the same problem. I spent ages on the phone speaking to a body in India who was unable to help. I had a look at the installation CD and in the top level folder there are 3 .BAT files, full, express and custom. I ran the full.bat and the installation went smoothly. This installation I guess is without Macromedia as the graphics appear much less clever.

The applications load OK but do seem a bit slow, still better than nothing. Best of luck.
