hello.

when i try to download the flashplayer for internet explorer,or firefox.i get these links:

http://aihdownload.adobe.com/bin/live/install_flashplayer11x32ax_gtbd_chrd_dn_aih.exe

http://fphdownload.adobe.com/bin/live/install_flashplayer11x32_gtbd_chrd_dn_aih.exe

those files are the wrong size(976/977kb.it should be about 4MBs),& will not install.

i think those are malware/virus files.

look what it says in their description:

version:3.3.3.0(it should be:11.4.402.287)

company:Solid State Networks(it should be:Adobe Systems Incorporated)

Internal Name/Original File Name:host.exe

i had even reported this to:https://bugbase.adobe.com ,but i never got a reply.

what is this mess???

these seem like the wright files:

http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.4.402.287/install_flash_player_ax.exe

http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.4.402.287/install_flash_player.exe

but they are way too big.(both are 9+ MBs.)

which means, they are bundled with mcafee,or something from google?

WHERE/HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD JUST THE FLASH PLAYER WITHOUT THE EXTRA SOFTWARE?

my os:win. X.P.

Download the latest Flash Player installers from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#main-pars_header

Both installers are about 15MB in size; no bundled software.

1.)i DEMAND AN OFFICIAL RESPONSE FROM ADOBE ABOUT THIS MALWARE.

if i don't get it,i will post on all the tech websites,& shame adobe.

2.)@ Pat Willener.

thank you for that "mvp response."

does anyone actually read the question before responding!?

you just gave me a page that "basically" has the links i had posted in my first post above.that link/page has been rehashed by everybody about a million times.

3.)Pat,explain to me something...

it looks like there are new versions (11.5.502.110) out today at 15+ MBs.where as versions 11.4.402.287 were 9+MBs.versions 11.2.202.228 were about 4MBs.

how do you explain the bloat to over 3 times their size in about 6 months?

either this is the worst coding ever,or it's bundled with something!?

This isn't malware, but instead these two installer files are the online versions of the Flash Player installers (please note, that your second link has a typo and should have been aihdownload.adobe.com.)  The acronym "aih" is short for Adobe Installation Helper.  This utility will download the actual installer package from one of our global CDN sites.  You can verify the authenticity of these files by going to the file property dialog on Windows, selecting the "Digital Signatures" tab, then verifying that Adobe Systems Incorporated certificate is displayed.

As for the size increase, with 11.5 we are now including the Adobe Access Module as part of the Flash Player install.  In past versions these were downloaded on demand based on the content being viewed.  If you'd like to learn more about this, please see this help doc.  The size increase with 11.2 was due to our change to make our installer a "universal" install that included both the 32 and 64 bit versions of the player.

Thanks,

Chris
