Question

NBA League Pass Broadband, no video or audio

I have OS X snow leopard on my macbook

Nvidia Geforce 9400M using 256 MB RAM

2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

When I load nba league pass broadband everything works fine.  I'll choose the game I wish to watch and the loading screen comes up.  Once it is done loading all I get is a black video area with no audio.  All the menu options are there and work fine.  If I go to full screen, I still get black video and no sound.  If I go to mini mode, I get video and sound just like it is supposed to be.  If I go to the DVR option and move back to an earlier time in the game, I'll get ~1 second of audio before nothing, and have still black screen for video.

I've tried the latest Chrome, Firefox, and safari.  All of them have identical results.

I uninstalled flash, and downloaded the latest version and reinstalled.  This did not solve the problem, everything acted the same.  I restarted the computer, same result.

Anyone experiencing a similar issue or have an idea for a fix?  I read about a crashing issue in another post, but this isn't crashing.  I put in a help ticket for nba league pass, but who knows when or if they'll ever get back to me.

there is a know bug on this.

    the fix is to:

    1. right click on the flash window.

    2. choose Settings

    3. turn hardware acceleration off by unselecting the checkbox.

    4. close the window an relaunch

    That's it!

Yeah, I have exact same problem.  I didn't know it would work on mini.  My monitor is too small for that, though.  Also, you can watch the archived game from yesterday no problem.

I got the black screen yesterday when I tried live.  Today, I was able to watch the first period of the Piston/Nets game no problems.  Then in the 2nd period, it all went black like yesterday.

I guess I will wait for games to be archived until their is a solution.  Too bad, NBA Broadband still puts the final scores on the same link that starts up an archived game.

Figure anything out, let us know:)

So I think I've figured out a work around though not optimal.  I've only tested this on Chrome.

like you said I can view the archieved games from the previous day.

So the work around that I found to work:

    1) login like normal

    2) open up a previous day's game to watch

    3) skip forward little bit into the game

    4) close the game down and then go to the game you want to watch live for today

It should then load and play like normal.  The one problem you had and I had as well was that some times randomly it would go black again.  I think this mostly happened when I would switch between full screen and windowed mode.

To solve this just close the browser down completely.  Open everything back up and repeat the process above again and it should start working again.

Also as a side note, the menu options in windowed mode are a little screwy too.  They are clickable, but the targeting of where you need to click seems to be off.

I think nba league pass broadband was created to be used with flash 10 and there are a bunch of bugs when moving to 10.1.  I know there were tons of bugs when using 10.1 beta last season.  The system resources are so much less with the use of 10.1 for me that I'm glad I'm having some functionality now although clunky.

As I said this is rather annoying, but it lets me enjoy my investment in the broadband games.  That mixed with espn3, will get me most of the games I want to watch this season except for tuesday and thursday night when TNT has all the games.

Man, cheers to you and internet browsers!  Works like a charm.

NBA Broadband still hasn't sent me their response email, just an immediate notice informing me they would.

But, type in a few words, find your post....--I feel like chanting "in-ter-net!"

    Thanks again
