Shockwave problem in Chrome after update

New Here ,
Apr 02, 2013 Apr 02, 2013

Sorry if this is in the wrong section or has been asnswered before but...

Shockwave was updated to 11.6.602.180   on a Win7 System running Chrome 26.0.1410.43.M

When using a game that uses Shockwave where my mouse points when I click

does not correspond with the action initiated.

There seems to be about a centimetre or two offset (cursor lower)

on a 19inch screen woth chrome zoon set to 100%

The update has not affected Firefox in the same way.

It's not clear, given the version number you cite, that you're talking about the Shockwave Player or Shockwave Flash. Can you provide a URL of the game you refer to?

Thanks for the reply.  It's a Facebook game called Hotshot.

When I right click over the game it shows... Adobe  Flash Player.

Sorry about the misleading title.

I did a system restore to when I was sure the problem didn't happen.

Win7 back to full updated 30 April 2013

Chrome back to 25.0.1364.152 m

Adobe flash player back to 11.6..602.171

And the problem gone.

Brought Chrome back to latest 26.0.1410.43

while keeping AF at 11.6.602.171

and the problem was back.

I guess that points to Chrome latest update as the issue?

I had no problem with FF either.

I've reported the Chrome problem but I'm not to expect a reply.

I'm getting the same problem, but only while using the older version of Flash Player 11.4, and not the pepper 11.6 that chrome tries to use. If I enable flash pepper 11.6, the mouse responds normally, but I lose surround sound. This occured with the latest chrome update.

I have found out that it is a chrome problem in combination with the adobe flash player ( not with chrome own pepperFlash ) with the latest chrome update that has to do with the way it handles the wmode option for swf files. So we have to wait for the next chrome update and hope that they will fix it.

In the mean time I have installed Chrome Canary , that's a developer version of the latest chrome so it's possible that you run into other problems, I haven't found any so far.

So installed Chrome Canary, disabled the pepperflash and enabled the adobe flash in chrome://plugins and everything is running fine again.

Hope this will help others.

Peter
