Hello All

I am working on this project for a client, suddenly no-one can get the SWF file to play.

The file is there.

If anyone can help please do.

I know this file works. It must be an update or something?

When I load your SWF into the NPAPI debugger on Firefox, it is throwing a number of ActionScript errors.  We have made a number of security related changes, but nothing jumps out at me as being the likely culprit.  It looks like there's maybe a remote shared library that's not getting loaded.

My first suggestion is to just recompile the SWF with the latest version of Flash Professional CC.  You can always grab a trial to just test it out.

The file works fine for me when I play it with the latest standalone player (Projector).

The file did work for me a month ago but now doesn't, neither does it work for either of the two script writers I usually hire.

Please could you link to the stand alone projector?

Thanks for your help

Adobe Flash Player - Downloads

They call it the Projector, but that's what you want.  Because the projector isn't running in the browser, I don't think we impose the same limitations on loading remote files when the SWF is compiled with Local-With-Filesystem permissions.  If you SWF *is* compiled with Local-With-Filesystem permissions, but you're not actually loading anything besides the SWF off the local filesystem, you might try recompiling with Local-With-Network permissions to see if it resolves the problem.  It's under Publish Settings.

Anyway, you can find the Projector at https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#fp14

Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you will need to make the .swf file association manually.

Even when I use the latest Flash projector I just get a blue screen and circles.

Neither, my client or myself have the project files to recompile.

I know this file works though, because I have seen it work on my computer before, and because people are posting that it works on this thread.

Arrgghhhh Help!

If you've lost the source to your SWF files, there are a number of SWF decompilers available.  You may be able to decompile the SWF and then recompile the project using a current compiler.  It's worth a shot anyway.

A cursory Google search turned up a few candidates (free and paid), but I don't have much experience with any of them.

FWIW, I've never seen that blue screen and circle behavior before.
