Flash Player (plug-in or standalone) - SWF, FLV, M4V

Quicktime - MPEG, MP4, MP3, MOV

Windows Media Payer - MP3, WMA, WMV, some MPEG, some MP4

VLC Media Player - Just about anything (FLV, AVI, MKV, OGG, MP4, MPG, MPEG, MP3, M4V, WebM)

SWF and FLV are Flash embed formats - they require Flash Player and a compatible browser/OS

MP4, OGG, WebM, and M4V are HTML5 - require only a compatible browser.
