I have a generated TOC and want to include the entries for the Appendix.

Is the Appendix part of the main document flow, or a separate .fm file?

If a separate file, was it part of the .book when you generated the

TOC from the Book menu?

In either case, does the Appendix use unique header paragraph formats?

Where they selected "Include Paragraphs Tagged" when you generated

the TOC?

I'm not sure what to use for the building block on the Reference page.

Which Ref page? TOC?

If the Appendix entries have unique Pgf Fmt names, say HeadApdx1,

those names will appear as tge Pgf Fmt names of lines in the default

ActiveTOC list, such as:

HeadApdx1TOC

For the Chapter I have:

<content absent>

And what "Chapter"?

HeadApdx1TOC I know that.

For the Chapter I have:

Chapter <$chapnum>: <$paratext><$pagenum>

And what "Chapter"? The chapters in the book.

For Appendix I used:

Appendix <$paranum>: <$paratext><$pagenum>

This, of course, returned a number for the Appendix instead of a letter.

So I want Appendix A in the TOC but get Appendix 1 even though the Appendix file has Appendix A.

Hope that clarifies.
