Can not update books anymore. FM2019

I'm working with the German-language FM. When I try to update a book, I get an error message which translates something like: 'Book could not be updated because it contains no non-generable files that can be opened.'

I've attached the original German Error message.

I had not worked with Framemaker for several months now; the books I'm working with have been existing for years, and I've never had this problem before.

Grateful for any solutions!

Strange … Please try this: Open all files in the book manually (and keep them open, save if necessary (if they have an * in the file name tab)) and then try to update the book? Do the IVZ and AVZ update then?

What happens, when you try to open the non-generated files in your book manually:

M12 D 00.fm

M17 D 09.fm

M17 D 00-RS.fm

Can you open them without any error messages?

Hi Stefan, thanks for the quick reply!

No problems with opening these manually.

That works! At least with one book. I'll try with several more. Thank you so much!

Also, this should not be a reason, but just to make sure: Looks like the book is on a network folder. Can you copy the files to a local folder and try it again (open all files, save, then update the book)?
