I can't create a pdf file from a book file in Framemaker 8 using Acrobat 8. I can create individual chapter pdfs from a book file, but not a pdf of the entire book. Any suggestions?

Are you up-to-date with patches to both FM and Acrobat?
This was an issue for several months, for some users, but seems to have been patched away...

* Do you have Tagged PDF turned ON in your job options?

What kind of errors are you getting, and what are the details of your environment?

Cheers,

Also, to add to the previous message. My files were created in FM 7 with no problems and was able to pdf the book. Conversion to FM8 seemed fine. Can use the book, regenerate the TOC, etc.

Tina,

As I mentioned in the first message, I'd verify that both FM and Acrobat have the latest patches applied by checking the product download pages.

Then I'd make sure that Tagged PDF was turned ON.

Are you printing the book to the Adobe Acrobat printer? That's usually safer than trying to SaveAs PDF.

If that's all in order, I'd look at what is on Page 4 that's triggering the PS error.... assuming that it crashes in the same place when you try to run out the file.

Art, Thankyou very much for responding and you were right about the Tagged PDF checkbox. Now, it works!
