I am working in a file that has multiple output versions in it using conditional tags, including multiple tags being applied to the same blocks of text. Because FrameMaker defaults to the "show" tag, I've had to build conditional expressions to define all the various combinations, which was working until now.
For example, the below image shows what I want turned on and off for one version, but I have text that is tagged Arch + Structure, Metric + Structure, Arch + Metric + Structure, etc. that is defaulting to being shown when it should be hidden.
This is the expression I am currently using:
not "MEP" and not "Metric" and not "PracticeFilesLink" and not "Arch" and not (("MEP" and "ChptRevAnswers" ) and not ( "MEP" and "Imperial" ) and not ( "MEP" and "InstructorGuide" ) and not ( "MEP" and "Metric" ) and not ( "MEP" and "PracticeFilesLink" ) and not ( "MEP" and "Print Only" ) and not ( "Arch" and "ChptRevAnswers" ) and not ( "Arch" and "Imperial" ) and not ( "Arch" and "InstructorGuide" ) and not ( "Arch" and "Metric" ) and not ( "Arch" and "PracticeFilesLink" ) and not ( "Arch" and "Print Only" ) and not ( "Structure" and "Metric" ) and not ( "Arch" and "Metric" and "Structure" ) and not ( "MEP" and "Metric" and "Structure" ))
Now when text is tagged as both Arch and Structure and my Structure tag is shown (so text should be showing if we're defaulting to the "show" tag), the text is disappearing unless I remove Arch from my exclusions, but that means my text that is tagged as Arch only is appearing when I need it hidden. Any thoughts? Or any thoughts on how to simplify my tagging/expression? I'm assuming there is no way to make the hidden tag take precedence instead of the show tag? (Oh, how I wish that was an option!)

Are you able to meet via a web meeting so I can visualize this? It's tough to get my head around what is happening without seeing it. Please email me offlist at rick at frameexpert dot com.

And what version of FM are you using? - that's always a good idea to start a thread off with...
