Hi,
Could you pelase add some more information, as it is difficult to predict solution with little info.
--> Anyways, I will give it a shot with a few assumptions, as you said you upgarded to FM9, does you book/Doc created in previous FM release is crashing??
Can you create a Dummy Doc in FM9 and try creating PDF.
--> Can you open you existing Book in Fm9 and then select all documents and open them indiviadually, with Fm, this way Fm upgardes each document to the current release.
then save the book and cos, and the proceed with generating PDF.
Thanks,
Anjaneai

Hello. I upgraded from FM9 to the Adobe Technical Suite which includes FM10 - so I upgraded to FM10. I can now not pdf a book or a file. I get an error message that Frame has detected a serious problem and has to shut down. At one point I did have trouble creating a pdf from FM9 and I got a patch fix from Adobe. Have not had the problem again until I upgraded to Technical Suite recently. I pulled up a FM9 file and tried to pdf and just got the same error. I did de-install and re-install just the Adobe Acrobat program last week and on that same day was able to pdf, but just tried to pdf and it crashed.

Hi,
I believe you tried the following patch --
http://blogs.adobe.com/techcomm/2008/07/hotfix_for_framemaker_1.html
--You did not share whether creating a PDF with a New Test Document created within FrameMaker 10 worked?
-- Can you Launch your book and open each document (from the book, by double clicking) individually and see if that works?
-- Try File -- Print -- Select print driver as Adobe PDF, and check if you are able create your PDF?
-- Can you also verify have you updated the patches 10.0.2!

Hi there. I did try print to file using Adobe PDF and it crashed. I did remove Adobe Acrobat and re-installed it and I was able to pdf the book file. However once I start working in the book - when I pdf it crashes again. I have tried to pdf individuals file and still crash. I have not updated the patch 10.0.2 (I saw that on the forum). I am currently on version 10.1.0 so should I still update w/that patch?

The version 10.0.2 is the FM 10 version, not Acrobat.
If there’s no reason for you to keep your old FM9 installation, I would deactivate, uninstall everything, and then reinstall the suite. That might solve a number of your issues.
