Deleting Markers

When you delete body text that has an Index marker associated with it, is the index entry also deleted next time you run the index? If not how do remove such markers or cause unresolved markers to be displayed for action?

If you delete a marker that is inside text that you delete, you delete the marker along with the text. When you update, the index entry for the deleted marker is no longer in the index. FrameMaker does not remember the content of deleted markers.

To keep markers, turn on the text symbols and be very careful to avoid selecting markers that you do not want to delete.
