FrameMaker 10 when colleagues have 9?

I'm starting a project with a new client who all use FrameMaker 9. Our original plan was to upgrade my computer to version 9 (from 7.2), but since version 9 has been discontinued, I'm having the worst time finding a legitimate copy of it anywhere.

The team is already reporting all sorts of problems with fonts, crashing, and other issues with version 9, and I'm afraid adding version 10 to the mix will only make matters worse. (They are under the impression that despite the issue they have with version 9, version 10 is much buggier, so they're not interested in upgrading themselves.)

Has anyone used 10 while working with a team that exclusively uses 9? Is it feasible? What sort of problems do you run into?

Thanks for any input you have.

Jen,

FM10 is more stable than FM9 and does have the option to save in FM9 format.  I can move documents back to FM9 without any issues.

The client's team has to sort out their issues with FM9. It's reasonably stable, so if they're haivng font, crashing and other issues, then they need help, especially if they think FM10 is buggier than 9. You might want to suggest that they drop by here or the Framers list.

Thanks for the input--I would hope that version 10 would be more stable than

9 (but it's been ages since I've been in the thick of it with any version of

FrameMaker, so these things are tough to gauge).
