Has anyone every used a highlight color printer? We would like to print from FrameMaker 9 to a pdf (or directly to the printer) with only our cautions and logos being one color (a company red) and the graphics (pics) to be grayscale. Is there anyway to do this? When we send the document to the printer the printer picks up the red in all the graphics.
Thanks,
ls

Have you tried converting your graphics to grayscale?
In your graphics folder create two sub-folders - \Colour and \Grayscale
Copy the graphics files to the colour folder. Then convert these to grayscale and place those into the grayscale folder. Copy whichever version that you want for production into the parent graphics folder and you've got what you need.

Yes, we knew we could do that....just that we were trying to get away from that idea. We have so many manuals....but thank you.

After reading your answer again, I gave it a shot with a small document that I made. We were thinking that we would have to have two FM files. But moving the grayscale or color files to the folder the FM file is in worked. We are going to test it Monday to see if it works with the printer.....thanks again....
