How can I automatically control empty spaces resulting from show/hide Conditional paragraphs?

I am trying to use conditional paragraphs I have a document that uses 6 paragraphs only 2 of which might be used of the possible six as is they are written one after the other on the page.  The problem I have is how can I automatically adjust the page for the resulting spaces that come about when I hide 4 other conditions. I want the document to " move up and eliminate the spaces" as it is, one condition might be at the bottom of the page and another somewhere in the middle resulting in huge gaps between the two.I have many documents like this where we want to use conditional language. What I have done is line up the optional language on the given page and then I have put conditional tags on them. The Idea was to toggle the one I wanted to use on and the others off.  But then I have a big formatting problem resulting  from the empty lines between conditional paragraphs or spaces, the lines before and after which I have played with endlessly without catching the trick.  I have only been using FrameMaker for a few weeks now and can not find anything about this anywhere. I thank anyone for any response to this as I am pretty lost on it.

When you apply a condition in FM and then hide that content several things happen. FM drops a marker where the conditional content is located. Then that content is actually removed and placed on a hidden page in the internal database along with the pointer back to the marker. Finally, the remaining content is reflowed to remove the gaps where it was removed.

If you are removing entire paragraphs, make certain that you include the end-of-paragraph symbol (i.e. the pilcrow ¶) as part of your selection for the condition. Then when the content is hidden, the resulting adjacent paragraphs use their respective Space Above/Below rules as you would normally expect.
