Live in the FM doc such as when I click on it, excel file will open.

Export selection to PDF. Import that.

If OLE still works, I wouldn't use it, for multiple reasons.

I follow the instructions in the online help: https://help.adobe.com/en_US/framemaker/2020/using/using-framemaker/user-guide/frm_text_tx-importing.... To add the table to the body pages, follow the outlined options.
