I would like to force FrameMaker to use custom hyphenation only for a specific word. In Framemaker the word “project” is split as proj-ect, meaning a plan or proposal. I want it to be “pro-ject” meaning to produce a projection.
Thanks,
Sue

This may help (from the FM help docs for FM9, and online)

Hello,
I use FM13 and need clarification with the hyphenation of compound words. To control the hyphenation I would like to use the site.dct.
Is it correct that I must set Preferences > Spelling > Spelling Options > Unusual Hyphenation ?
What does the entry "-heavy\-duty" mean?
AFAIK, the hyphen at the beginning states that the word heavy-duty should not be hyphenated at all.
How do I allow automatic hyphenation only between heavy and duty? Would it be "heavy\--duty" or "heavy-\-duty"?
The compound word I want to auto-hyphen is "Drop-down-Liste". I don't want the individual words to be hyphenated, the word has to be auto hyphenated either "Drop-"+"down-Liste" or "Drop-down-"+"Liste".
This word needs the auto hyphenation because it occurs in a rather narrow cell of a table.
Regards,
Fabian
