Hi,
is it possible to import an XHTML package (ZIP) into FrameMaker? If so, is there a step by step guide?
Greetings Stefan

You could use XSLT to transform the data into XML that could be imported into a FrameMaker structured application. Then you could use FrameMaker to add your content then save it as PDF. I don't know what WEP format is.

Hi Matt

Thanks for the tip. Yes, I can open the individual chapters (HTML file) directly. FrameMaker says that this file is not an XML file, but it is imported. What amazes me is that I can continue to use the structure. I do not need to import the DTD additionally. Unfortunately, this cannot be imported.
Is there any way to turn off the element characters "[" for PDF publication? At the moment I have to detach the structure from the text.

Hi Stefan

You can not import a ZIP file into FrameMaker. The minimum requirement is to expand the ZIP to a directory and import from there the required file(s) into FM by File > Import  > File.

Thank you for your answer!

Can you tell me with which software I can develop the XTHML best?
Situation: I receive the document from our supplier via XHTML package.
In this document I would like to include our information (e.g. tools, equipment, fixtures, part numbers, etc.). I would like to publish the document as WEP and as PDF.

Hi Frameexpert

oh now I have overlooked that you have already answered the question HTML to XML.
Unfortunately I don't know the XSLT function. Can you help me there?

FrameMaker has an off the shelf structured application for XHTML. Have you tried opening the files directly?

Hi,

I am dealing with same problem I need to import data from Schema ST4 to Adobe FrameMaker. Did you manage to work it our somehow? My client has schema and need his documents to be translated, but he wants me to delived PDF. But I dont own schema - so the only way is to go around with FM, but it seems it is not working together as it should.

Thank you very much for your help and reply.
