I have to prepare a file for a printing company. I print my document with color separations (all colors are process colors) into a PostScript file, then produce the PDF file with Acrobat Distiller. In the PDF file (and already in the Postscript File), the page numbers on the individual color separated pages are wrong. The pages are named as follows:
"Cyan:1", "Magenta:2", "Yellow:3", "Black:4", "Cyan:5", etc. instead of
"Cyan:1", "Magenta:1", "Yellow:1", "Black:1", "Cyan:2", etc.
Hence the printing company could not put together the separated pages, as they told us.
I use FrameMaker 12 (version 12.0.4.445). Does anybody have a solution for this problem? Thanks for any help.

You shouldn't be responsible for the separations. The print shop should take care of that from a composite PDF and it's usually tied into their imposition software in the workflow. [I'd look around for another print vendor if they can't do that!]
If you must do your own separations, you would have more control using a PDF-baed tool such as Enfocus' PitStopPro. FM's page numbering is automatic and there's very little that you can do to change its behaviour.
