Issue in TOC

Hello,

In a DITA map I have added Concepts .ditamap and Topics .ditamap (which contains multiple .dita files) and saving ditamap as "Book 11 with fm components".

Here TOC got generated and chapter 1 is starting from concepts.

But, I want chapter 1 starts from topics not from concepts.

Could any one please suggest.

Thank you.

I assume you're using the default DITA support in FM11 (not DITA-FMx) to create the TOC using the special INI file? I've not really used that method, but I believe that the TOC is created like a regular generated file based on paragraph tags in the FM files in the book. If so, you'd need to modify the EDD underlying the generated files so the para tags for the headings are applied with different names so you can set up the TOC template to work with those tags and create the TOC that you want.

Sorry if this is a bit vague, but I think that's the basic approach you'll need to take. Hopefully someone else with actual experience using this method can provide better information.

Cheers,

...scott

If I understand your problem at all, it seems to me you can rearrange the order of your DITAMAPs in the original ditamap, or rearrange things in you Book file.  FrameMaker should be picking up headings in the order in which they appear in the bookfile.

If this isn't the issue  then Scott's reply should help.

Further to Scott's reply, FrameMaker can also generate TOC entries from element names.
