I have just installed FrameMaker but it acts weirdly. The user interface is now a mix of English and Chinese (I think). As yo can see in the screenshot the menus are in English but a lot of the other stuff in Chinese. How do I change this?
Hi,
What's the language of your Windows interface?
Very strange.
In your case I would de-install and re-install FrameMaker.
Or at least close FrameMaker and restart Windows and see, if anything has changed.
Best regards, Winfried

My Windows interface is Danish.
I have closed FrameMaker and restarted Windows (more than once) without effect.
Sounds like I have to try the re-install.

Hi fellow dane! You may also try renaming the preferences folder, which can be found here and and restart FrameMaker.
C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\FrameMaker

Thanks for the suggestion, but I cannot find this on my PC.

Possibly you have to activate to see "hidden files" so that you are able to see the AppData folder.
However, i doubt, if you can fix your issue with this folder. The unser interface language is set during the installation. You cannot change it when you change files or folders.

I finally de-installed and re-installed FrameMaker. The first installation was the "English US version". When I installed today I chose the "English (International)" version. That seems to have fixed the issue. I hestitated about de- and re-installing as I have had som many issues getting FM installed. But now glad I finally did it.
Thanks for all suggestions and feedback.

Very good that this works now! I think that when you just installed FrameMaker, then it's best to accept that something weird had happened.
In such a situation you often can do a repair installation so that you do not have to de-install install everything.
