Re-starting index from scratch

I'm trying to redo my index from scratch. I had a working index last night after having made some changes to the master pages and the and the reference pages. Whenever I now Add>Standard Index, FM complains about missing files (booknameIX1, IX2, and so forth), even those files are displayed in the book's document list and have been saved.

Even after I deleted the all the index files I generated yesterday files and the original (working) index, FM complains about those missing files.

At this point, all I want to do is start the index from scratch and re-do the modifications I made yesterday

Is that possible? If so, how? And if not, where do I go from here?

Thanks,

JP

You might want to save a copy of the IX to use as a source of Master Pages and xyzzyTOC Pgf formats.

Book menu.

Select IX

Edit > Delete File from Book

Add > Standard Index

Ok, I've saved a copy of the good .IX file.

Where do I find the "book menu"? It doesn't appear in any of the menu categories, and the only un-greyed-out icons at the top of the book window

are Add File, Add Folder, Add Group and Save.

Cheers,

JP

The Book menu is the only thing ever visible when you open a .book file.

If only the Add submenu is enable, it sounds like your entire Book file is corrupt.
