Morning fellow Framemaker strugglers and gurus.
I am using Framemaker 10 on Windows XP.
I have imported an arrow graphic (png) that I want to overlay on an imported illustration (png).
I edit the arrow graphic in RoboScreenCapture so it has a transparent background. This saves fine but for some reason doesn't apply itself to the Framemaker document.
It may be worth noting that I've never used this feature in RoboScreenCapture before, so I have no idea if it works at all.
Thanks, as always.

I haven't used PNG in Frame, and so don't know if Frame honors PNG transparency. However, I have used EPS for what you are trying to do, and there are some things about it you haven't mentioned, and might need to know.
Your PNG is likely raster, true? Vector EPS images tend to be transparent by default, but even so, the preview image when editting in Frame is opaque. You won't see through the top object within Frame.
Raster EPS images can support transparency, but this typically requires adding a clipping path to the image, done in Photoshop.
When a clipped raster EPS is imported into Frame, both fill and border must be set to None. However, the preview is still opaque. You won't see the transparency until you render to PDF or print.

You would have thought this was true, wouldn't you?
I've tried using a clipped EPS and the result is the same, onscreen and in print/pdf.
This is defo something FM is messing up.

Hi,
I would like to throw some light on it,as what png do is it supports the transperancy but could be a possibility that Framemaker do not support it sometimes ,so what is would like you to do is,instead of using the png format try and use jpeg and then apply transperancy/opacity on that picture and reply if that resolves the problem and solve the purpose of your work.

Hi Harpreet,
Thanks for trying.
The problem seems to be the same with the image saved as a jpeg.
