Setting up a template based word to FrameMaker import workflow.

I am setting a workflow for a client, which will allow them to import a word file, map the Word styles to preexisting FrameMaker styles and have the document formatting upon import. This works fine, but I would really, really like to avoid having FrameMaker import all the Word styles also.

It seems like it can not be avoided per standard FrameMaker operation, but can I possibly script mye way out of this? Is it possible to run a script that deletes all styles beyond those that are supposed to be there?

Hi Bjørn, Take a look at my DeleteFormats script, which can delete unused paragraph formats. The script could be modified to delete formats based on a list that you provide. Or, it could be tied to a template, which would provide the valid formats to keep. Send me an email offlist and I will send you a free copy. Thanks.

Sorry @frameexpert for my late answer.

I have recommended this solution to my client. I shall probably come back to you offlist with some questions regarding this matter.
