Template not displaying formats correctly

I am running FrameMaker 11 on Windows XP. I am using a template with styles that display correctly on other coworkers' systems. However, the following styles do not display on my system:

  • Bullet styles: Bullets do not appear for any bullet style.
  • Note style: The style is set to a bold, all caps. Instead, the text appears in a normal font.

I also copied the following files to my local drive:

  • \\Program Files\Adobe\AdobeFrameMaker11\Structure\xml\fswue: I copied fswue.dtd, FswueDOCS.fm, and fswuerules.txt
  • \\Program Files\Adobe\FrameMaker11\Structure: I copied structapps.fm

What can I do to make the template styles to display correctly?

It's best to have your resident expert set this up for you...

You'll need your StructApps file modified to see the new files, then make sure the referenced assets are all installed on your PC.

When done properly, you can reread the structured application via the Structure Tools menu, or restart FrameMaker.

Setting up the environment has a few potential gotchas so if you have someone to help you, use 'em!!

Thanks for the info. My resident expert is asking for step-by-step instructions on your solution. Are they handy somewhere online?

No worries. Check out http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FrameMaker/9.0/StructuredDev/Structure_Dev_Reference.pdf for details.
