Text not flowing entire width of text box

I am working on a FM template that has master pages with single column text boxes that are 45 picas wide.

I am finding that my tagged text is not flowing to the entire length of the text box. It is flowing in at a maximum line width of 42 picas, then bumping to the next line. I do not have indents set in this tag. When I attempt to manually type additional text in the text box, it is bumping to the next line when it reaches 42 picas in length.

What setting do I need to adjust so that the text will flow to the 45 pica width of the text box?

One thing to test is whether the text is displayed using screen or printer metrics. Text is often most readable with different spacing between characters on screen than on paper. FrameMaker can optionally use the screen metrics when it is displaying text, but it always uses the same line breaks regardless of which metrics it uses for display. Screen metrics often result in the appearance of unused space at the end of a line; they can also result in text that aligns vertically on successive lines in print not appearing to be aligned.

To test,  look in maker.ini for a line in the form:

DisplayUsingPrinterMetrics=xxx

where xxx is either "On" or "Off". To see true horizontal character position, set it to On. (Make sure FrameMaker is not running when you edit maker.ini.)

Check the properties of the text frame (do this on the master page) to make sure the Room for Side Heads is NOT selected. The side head can be on the left or the right; if the latter, it would appear that the lines of text are wrapping before they should be.
